Memcached in Hosting
If you host script-driven sites in a hosting account with our company, you’ll be able to add the Memcached distributed memory caching system to your hosting plan with just a few mouse clicks from your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. The upgrade will be available momentarily and, since the needed PHP extension is already installed on our advanced cloud website hosting platform, you can begin using it right away. To give you more versatility, we offer two different upgrades related to the number of instances (i.e. how many websites will use Memcached) and to the amount of system memory that the Memcached caching system will use. The latter is offered in increments of 16 megabytes and you can add memory as many times as you like. Logically, the more memory the Memcached caching system is permitted to use, the more content it will cache, so in case you’ve got a traffic-consuming website with lots of data, you may require more memory in order to be able to make full use of the power that Memcached can give you.
Memcached in Semi-dedicated Servers
When you order any of our semi-dedicated server packages, you will find Memcached as an optional feature in the Upgrades section of your Hepsia Control Panel, so if you’d like to use it for any of the Internet sites hosted in the semi-dedicated server hosting account, you can add it with only a couple of mouse clicks. The content caching platform is ideal for any script-based software app such as Joomla™, WordPress, or even a custom application, and depending on your requirements, you’ll be able to select two separate things – how many sites will use the Memcached platform, i.e. the number of instances; and how much content will be cached, i.e. the amount of system memory that the platform will use. The two things are not tied to each other, so if you own a high-demand Internet site with lots of content, you can order one instance and a larger amount of memory. The Memcached platform will accelerate the overall performance of your sites soon after you activate it and both you and your website visitors will enjoy faster loading speeds.
Memcached in VPS Servers
Memcached comes by default with all VPS web hosting service ordered with our in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel. The extension it requires in order to work correctly is compiled when the server is set up, so you can start using the content caching platform as soon as your brand-new server is fully operational. The memory that the Memcached caching platform can use depends on the given VPS plan, but even with the low-end ones, several hundred megabytes will be at your disposal exclusively for this platform. This will allow you to improve the performance of numerous websites hosted on the server at the same time and to lower the load on the machine even if you own large-scale script-driven portals with numerous visitors. The caching platform can be used with any script – Joomla™, Drupal™ or Mambo, or a custom-built script, and you’ll notice the faster performance shortly after you begin using it.
Memcached in Dedicated Servers
Memcached is available free of charge with all Linux dedicated service that we offer and the only requirement is that the server must be ordered with the Hepsia hosting Control Panel. You can use the object caching system for any database-driven site, including those based on widely used Internet apps – for example, a WordPress online diary or a Joomla™-powered social network. Each dedicated server comes with a given amount of system memory that the Memcached caching system can employ, but the minimum you will get is 3 GB, which is quite enough to enhance the loading speed of extremely heavy sites enormously, as this memory will be dedicated to storing the cached information. The system will begin caching content as soon as it’s enabled, so shortly thereafter, you will detect the enhanced overall performance of your Internet sites and the lowered load on your dedicated server. Many Internet sites use Memcached to increase their efficiency, among them famous ones like Wikipedia and Reddit.
